Bradley Jay Gana passed away on February 23, 2024, at the age of 68. Brad had been battling cancer for several years before his passing in League City, Texas.
Brad was born in Houston, Texas, to parents Harold & Helen Gana. After graduating from the University of Houston in 1985 with his Bachelor of Science in Technology & Technical Education, Brad spent several years teaching at the University. During this time, he bought his first house in Southwest Houston and began attending Second Baptist Church, where he met and married the mother of his two daughters. Shortly after the birth of his first daughter, Brea, in 1990, Brad accepted a Civil Engineering position with Saudi Aramco and relocated his family to Saudi Arabia, where his second daughter, Marlena, was born six years later. During the nine years Brad & his family lived overseas, they took many international vacations and were actively involved in the expat community. In 2000, Brad decided it was time for his family to leave the Middle East and return to the States, so they moved to Seabrook, Texas. A couple of years later, Brad began accepting international inspection jobs, working on numerous large projects off the coast of West Africa and the UAE. In 2004, Brad & his wife divorced, and soon after, Brad moved back to the Arabian Peninsula to help establish CTSA, a quality & inspection services company based out of Saudi Arabia. He lived in Abu Dhabi for about seven years while managing CTSA and continued traveling the world until he moved back to League City, Texas, to be closer to his daughters. Brad continued to oversee QA/QC and Inspections for many projects throughout the Gulf Coast region until taking time off to devote himself to the reconstruction of his house on Galveston Bay, since the original structure had been destroyed in 2008 by Hurricane Ike. In 2021, Brad received a diagnosis of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia with Richter’s Transformation. He fought hard and continued to prioritize his daughters over everything until ultimately losing the battle three days after testing positive for COVID. Brad will be sorely missed in the lives of his family & friends and remembered for his incredible knowledge & passion for the sea, the outdoors, his family, faith, and life.
Brad is predeceased by his parents, Harold & Helen, and his eldest brother, John. He is survived by his daughters, Brea & Marlena, granddaughter Lilyana, and brothers Larry & Douglas.
We love you Dad.
