This will be our family’s first without our beloved wife and mother, Brigida Benita Newton. Our first for birthday celebrations without her and our first wedding anniversary without sharing that special joy and delicious cooking, but most importantly, that special grace that she radiates that we know only comes from God.
Brigida expired to our Lord on July 2nd at 1:45pm after complications with her fight with cancer. This disease took her quickly. As a woman of God, she dedicated the first half of her life as an avid worker for Compaq Computers where she retired and gave the second half of her life to work for her home church, St. John Neumann Catholic Church. She will forever be a member of the Legion of Mary and continue be an advocate for God in her afterlife.
She is survived by her husband, Peter Newton, two daughters, Ana and Sandra Newton, eight surviving sibling in Venezuela (her place of birth), and a host of church family members and friends in which our family will not have been able to make this transition without them. In their time in the United States, Peter and Brigida have created bonds with friends that spanned from longtime friend in Joyce Frith and the Holden Family, the Orozco family, the Vason family of Atlanta, GA, her adopted Guevada family across Venezuela and the United States, nephews and nieces within the Stanford family and Newton family in the United States, Canada, and Barbados. And I am sure many others in which she has touched their lives.
We thank you for being a part of this celebration of her life and please continue to pray for us as we are praying for you.
