

He accepted Christ at an early age and was a Junior Deacon at New Bethel Baptist Church in Las Vegas, Nevada and he participated in many youth activities at church. He graduated from Western High School in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1990. He played youth, Junior High, and High School Football. He was also a true Dallas Cowboy fan. He attended Tennessee State University for a semester, but transferred to Prairie View A&M University, and graduated in 1997 with a degree in Criminal Justice. He worked for Nevada Power for many years and he truly enjoyed working. His last job was at Union Pacific Railroad in Texas, where he worked until he became disabled. He was also a member of The Church WithoutWalls in Houston, Texas.
Byron leaves behind to cherish his memory, his Mother Eddie Virginia Johnson, his Sister Valerie Johnson-Reed (Chris) of Houston, Texas. He loved his only niece Kayla Denise, and he loved his Nephews Ryan Christopher and Micah Joshua. He also leaves behind two uncles Calvin Morris of Las Vegas, Nevada and Jesse H. Morris Naperville, Illinois. Along with his cousins Sharon, Michelle, and LaTonya of Las Vegas, Nevada, he also leaves his cousins, Sherri and Elaine and many second cousins and church family members. Also cherishing his memory is one special cousin Edward Overton of California and family friends Christine & Frank Garcia, also of California.
Byron made many friends while growing up in Las Vegas, Nevada and he made more lifelong friends while attending Prairie View A&M University.
Byron’s earthly life was not as long as we would have liked, but we have many fond memories of him that we will never forget.
