Carol F. Melcher

CAROL FAYE MELCHER, beloved wife and mother, entered eternal life on June 3, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Carol was a native Houstonian who attended Spring Branch High School, the University of Houston and the University of Texas School of Law. She worked as an attorney for BP Corporation North America. Carol loved hiking and explored almost all of our country’s northwestern national parks. She was active in many organizations at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church. Carol became a mother in 2002 when she travelled to Guatemala to adopt a beautiful baby boy she named Matthew. She married her husband, Paul, in 2010. Carol’s friendly personality touched everyone she met.

Carol is survived by her husband, Paul Miller; son, Matthew Melcher; mother, Hermine (“Minnie”) Melcher; sister, Joan Bone (husband Jack) ; brothers, Dennis Melcher (wife Janice) and Jerry Melcher (wife Janice); stepdaughter, Caitlin Miller and by many nephews and nieces and their families. Carol was preceded in death by her father, Ludwig (“Lou”) Melcher. Carol’s family wishes to thank her many health care providers.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Earthman Hunters Creek Funeral Home, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, 12955 Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77079.
