Carole H Ball

Carole Haynes Ball passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017. She was born September 27, 1938 in Port Arthur, Texas to Hinton William Haynes and Lora Lee Webb Haynes. She was raised in Texas and California, returning to Houston where she attended Lamar High School and met the love of her life, William D. Ball. Upon their graduation, they were married in Houston, June 15, 1956. Together, they created a partnership that included his college education while she worked at Prudential Life Insurance Co. After Bill’s completion of dental school and service to our country in the US Army from 1964 -1966 at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, they returned to Houston, where she continued raising their family while he established his dental practice in Bellaire, Texas. Together with friends and family, they enjoyed many adventures until his death in 1996.

Carole went on to continue their dream of retirement in Pagosa Springs, Colorado where she lived since 1998. Carole was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. She was a generous hostess and always loved to entertain and travel. Her adventures took her around the world, and she was as adept at organizing a camping and fishing trip to Lake Rayburn in East Texas, as she was setting out to climb Machu Picchu in Peru. Carole found time to volunteer with causes close to her heart in Pagosa Springs which included the Archuleta County Health Fair and Girl Scouts.

Carole is preceded in death by her parents and sister Martha. She is survived by her sister Janette Welz along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by children Cassandra Kane and husband Thomas, Rebekah Ball, Julia Smith and husband Justin, and William R. Ball. Grandchildren Valerie, Katie, Lola, Emalie, Ryan, Olivia, Charlotte, Katherine, Jenya, Brandon, Riley and William. Great-grandchildren Chavonne, Walter, Kevin, Caleb, Landon, Emilie and Ellie

.The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 12:00 noon with burial to follow at Forest Park-Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road at Dairy Ashford in Houston. Pallbearers are grandsons Ryan Gilbert, Brandon Greene, William Ball, Jenya Ball, Walter McNairy, Jr., and grandson-in-law William Sternberg.

We will remember Carole with much love and affection at the sight of a perfect sunset, a cool mountain rain, a desert sunrise or the sight of sparkling winter snow. She has given us a lifetime of her love, support and patience. The lives she touched and the love she gave without condition will continue to enrich us all.
