Carolyn is survived by her son Robert Wayne Colvin and wife Diane, son Warren Craig Colvin and wife Kristie and daughter Cynthia Ann Kornegay and husband Brad, and her beloved grandchildren Julie, Andrew and Emily Colvin, Clint and Shelby Colvin, Hudson, Sterling and Harper Kornegay.
She is also survived by her sisters Pat Colvin and husband Larry, Connie McCracken and husband Wayne, and Gloria Washburn and husband Jim, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband William Jones and her parents, Violet and Homer Warren.
Carolyn graduated from Austin high school in 1956 and was awarded an academic scholarship to the University of Houston. She worked as an Executive Assistant in the oil and gas industry working in the Research Department for Tuboscope and for Exxon Chemical. She was a Charter member of CPA of Texas, a member of NSA and PSI. Carolyn retired in 1998.
Carolyn and Bill were married at Westbury United Methodist Church on
June 2, 1990. Carolyn was an active member of Westbury UMC and Harmony Sunday school class for many years. Carolyn became a member of Second Baptist when she moved to Katy to be close to her grandchildren in 2004. She loved her bible study class, Higher Ground, and volunteering for Walk to Emmaus. Some of her favorite studies were Experiencing God, Disciple I and The Weigh Down Workshop.
Carolyn had a contagious smile and welcoming spirit. She had unconditional love for everyone in her life and was always quick to forgive. She was not afraid to share her beliefs and love for Jesus.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on November 6, 2020 at 11:00 Second Baptist Church in The Williams House.
