

Charlene was a lifetime director at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. She was a director in the Llama and International committees and helped create Houston’s Agventure experience. She was also a philanthropic contributor to the Boys and Girls Harbor for many years.
She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Clark W. Thompson Jr.; and parents Harry Pierce Quitter, and Judy Mary Dickson.
She is survived by cousins William “Dub” Dickson, and Richard Dickson; sister, Susan Laws; grandchildren, Frank J. Whitley III, of Houston, Mimi Douglas, of Austin, Clark Thompson Whitley, of Houston; and numerous nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Gordon Graham for three decades of loyal service to the family.
Charlene was a member of a St. Michaels Catholic Church.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock in the afternoon until eight o’clock in the evening on Monday, the 6th of May, in the parlor and grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive, in Houston.
The funeral service is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 7th of May, in the Jasek Chapel at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, where the Rev. Douglas Guthrie, Parochial Vicar, is to officiate.
Following the service, the family is to gather for a private entombment at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock.
