

Charles A, Gurrola,81, of Houston, TX, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2013. He was born on September 25, 1931, in Galveston, TX, to Jose and Carmen Gurrola. After serving in the US Army during the Korean War, he returned home to marry his wife, Nicoloza Gurrola on April 17, 1952. Charles was the founder and President of Gurrola Reprographics, a family owned business that has been serving Houston since 1969. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who touched the lives of all that he met.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Gurrola.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nicoloza Gurrola, and their six children: Charles J. Gurrola and wife Tamara, Diana Jozwiak and husband Michael, Kenneth Gurrola and wife Marva, Sylvia DeJohn and husband Vincent, Patricia Osterhaus, Debra Simons and husband Scott. He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren: Brian, Sara, Grant, and Kyle Gurrola, Cristina Knape, Garrett VanderVort, Michael and David Jozwiak, Nicole and Dustin DeJohn, Duane and John Eric Osterhaus, Ryan Shipley, Pamela Musselwhite, and Paige Simons. Charles was also the great grandfather to 5: Isaac and Ava Knape, Landon, Jadon, and Teagen Shipley.
A Visitation will be held for Charles on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, from 5pm to 8pm with Rosary at 7pm in the chapel of Pat H. Foley Funeral Home, 1200 West 34th St., Houston, TX. A funeral service will be held to celebrate his life and the impact he had on so many people on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at 11:30am at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman, Houston, TX. Internment will take place following the funeral services at Forest Park Lawndale.
