August 12, 1947 – November 3, 2025
Charles “Chuck” Japon, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025. Born in Havana, Cuba, on August 12, 1947, Chuck built a life marked by loyalty, hard work, and quiet strength.
After serving his country in the U.S. Army as both a paratrooper and a military police officer, Chuck went on to spend his career as a piping designer in the oil industry. He brought the same dedication and precision to his work that he carried into all aspects of his life.
While he was proud of his professional accomplishments, Chuck’s true passion was his ranch, where he found joy in improving the land and caring for his animals especially the discarded or homeless ones who were lucky enough to find a home with him. He loved flying planes whenever he had the chance, catching up and laughing with friends at Super Bowl parties, and spending time with his grandsons, Evan and Rex, whether they were shooting BB guns at targets or simply enjoying the day together.
Chuck will be remembered as a man of few words but great humor, generosity, and devotion. Loyal and hardworking, he was a true friend to many and the heart of his family an incredible husband, father, and grandfather who led by example.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nedda Japon; son Eric Japon; daughter Monica Siwiak and son-in-law Marek Siwiak; father-in-law Humberto Acosta; brother-in-law Bert Acosta Jr.; and grandsons Evan and Rex Siwiak. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ada Iser.
A private family ceremony will be held at Forest Park Cemetery in Houston, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Habitat for Horses, a nonprofit dedicated to saving and rehabilitating neglected horses a cause close to Chuck’s heart.
Chuck’s memory will live on in the laughter of his family, the friends who cherished him, and the animals he so lovingly cared for.
