Cheryl Ann Tyra Williams, 63, passed away on April 24, 2026. Born on April 19, 1963, Cheryl was originally Cheryl Ann Tyra Holder, born to Maria and John Holder {deceased}. She was one of eleven siblings and is survived by nine, including Clevy Holder and Annette Holder (Deceased). Originating in Trinidad & Tobago, Cheryl migrated to the united states at just 19 years old, leaving home with dreams far larger than she could have imagined—carrying forward with courage, purpose, and a steady faith that would shape the life she built.
After arriving in the United States, Cheryl began a career in early childhood education. Over more than 35 years, she devoted herself to education as well as childcare and security, meeting each responsibility with diligence and a tireless work ethic. Her desire to keep learning never waned; in her spare time she pursued courses in psychology, earning many certificates and awards. In retirement, she poured her time and attention into her granddaughter, (Onyx), who was her pride and joy and a constant source of light in her days.
Cheryl shared her life with her husband, Al, who preceded her in death. She was a cherished mother to her three children, Anwar, Kiyani, and Nekema, and a loving grandmother to Onyx. She is also survived by her two sons-in-law, Robert and Antonio. To those who knew her best, Cheryl’s love was steadfast and generous—often placing the needs of others before her own, and holding her children close at the center of her heart.
Cheryl found joy in the simple, nourishing gifts of home. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and gardening most of all. Time in her garden was a daily comfort, where she tended her plants with patient care and took quiet satisfaction in the fruits of her labor. She truly had a green thumb, and her kindness seemed to grow as naturally as the life she nurtured around her.
She was also deeply active in her community through charity involvement and, most of all, hosting—opening her home and her heart in ways that made others feel welcomed, remembered, and cared for. In countless moments both ordinary and profound, Cheryl’s presence was a source of strength and inspiration, and she will be remembered as beloved and deeply cherished by many.
