Chester Arthur Brooks was born to Clarence Brooks, Sr. and Mae Doris Brooks, November 30, 1955 in Lafayette, La. He was the fifth child of 10 children born to this union. He is preceded in death by preceded in death by his parents and one sibling.
Chester was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and friend to many. He joined and was baptized at St. Mark United Methodist at an early age. On July 12, 2002, he connected with Bishop James Dixon, II and the Community Of Faith Church, Houston, Texas. He was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord. In 1974, He graduated from Opelousas Sr. High and in 1975 enlisted into the Army and served for six years (Thank you for your Service). He received an honorable discharge in 1981 and also earned service degrees in Communications Clinical Specialist, Medical Specialist, Clinical Specialist PHII and riflery. In 1984 He graduated from T.H. Harris Vocational College in Louisiana, He later studied at TEEX graduating in 1999. Chester operated his own HVAC/Refrigerating business, Tech-A-Tronics, from 1992 to 2010. In 1997 Chester married Renie Cestro (Houston). They enjoyed 23 years of marriage. Chester joined the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a HVAC Technician Specialist in Dec 2011 and was there until his heart attack in July 2018. Chester had a huge personality and heart, always the life of the party with willing and able arms to help family and friends. He made friends easily and no one was ever a stranger to him.
Chester earned his Angel Wings on Monday, July 13, 2020 at the early age of 64. He leaves to cherish his precious memory: His loving Wife-Renie Brooks; Sons- Barret Lewis (Kimberly) and Aaron Cestro; Granddaughters- Kennedi, Berkley, Azriella, and Cayetlin; Five Brothers: Clarence Brooks, Jr. (Bennie); Joseph Brooks, Gary Brooks; all of Houston, Texas; Ronald Brooks (Lou Ella) of Aurora, Colorado; Charles Brooks of Opelousas, La.; Three Sisters: Yvonne Brewer (Delano) of Houston , Texas; Shirley Brooks of Baytown, Texas; Sandra James (Steve) of Tracey, California and a host of other family and friends.
