Christine "mimi" Edwards passed away, November 6, 2013, in Houston, TX. Christine was born in Junction City, LA to Tom B. and Lelan Leake, on May 12, 1927. She married Bobby J. Edwards on August 5, 1948 in Farmerville, LA. She graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1948 with a degree in business. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Edwards Owens. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bobby Edwards; Grandchildren, Lauren Fuentes and her husband Tino and Lindsey Owens; great grandchildren, Noah, Zabryna and Audryna Fuentes,and Avery and Dante Johnson; and her dear friends, Jo Anne and Buzz Parks of Katy, TX and Billy Clinton of Farmerville, LA. Visitation will take place at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Graveside service will be held Thursday, November 14, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., in Taylor Cemetery in Farmerville, LA. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to, Betty Edwards Owens Endowment Scholarship, c/o Louisiana Tech University, 305 Wisteria st., Ruston, LA. The family would like to give a big thank you to all of her wonderful neighbors for their help and support.
