

She was born to the late Henry Anton and Emma Orsak, February 19, 1910 in Bomartin, TX. She married the late Olin O. Hammer, Sr., October 18, 1936 and they lived together in Waco, TX, before moving to Houston.
After her husband was lost in WWII, Clara dedicated her life to the well-being of their three children, as well as the care of her mother. She was loving grandmother to her four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was an accomplished homemaker and was successful at cooking, sewing and needle work. She remained in the same home in West University for 61 years, where she was a loving neighbor and friend to all. She relocated in 1999 to live with her granddaughter in Fulshear; and in 2001 moved to Atria Assisted Living Center.
Clara is survived by her three children, Olin Hammer and Jim Hammer of Fulshear; and Elaine Philip of Houston. She is also survived by her four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and her niece, Ruby Bateman.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Olin Hammer, Sr., Mother and Father, Henry and Emma Orsak, and her only sibling Lillian Schmidt.
