Clara Zilla Walton Pettigrew

Clara Pettigrew (Walton) was born July 12, 1940, to Laura (Bolton) and Alfred Walton Sr., in Tyler, Texas. She gave her life to Jesus Christ at an early age and was a member of Jackson Springhill Baptist Church in Tyler.

Clara graduated from Emmett Scott High School in Tyler, Texas and continued her educational studies at Beauty School College and Texas State College in Tyler. In August 1962, Clara married the love of her life, Harold Pettigrew. Clara was a Proverbs 31 woman. She was a virtuous woman “her price was far above rubies.” She did her husband and family good all the days of their marriage.

Mother Pettigrew was preceded in death by her husband Pastor Harold Pettigrew, her son Harold Pettigrew Jr., her parents Laura and Alfred Walton Sr., her sisters Francis Farmer, Ruby Jewel Walton, Ruth Walton and her brothers Obie Walton, Willie Ed Walton, Jessie B Walton, John Henry Walton and Alfred Walton Jr. Clara leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Regina Stevens II (Larry) and Roslynn. One grand-daughter Jasmine Alfred. One brother John Walton Sr., three sister-in-laws, Mildred Stewart (Robert), Carol, and Marilyn Williams (David). Her beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews

Wake and Memorial Services will be held this Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Greater Park Hill COGIC, 7809 Winship Street, Houston, Texas 77028. Superintendent Robert Robinson is Pastor.
