

Clement Koffi Afanou, born on March 20, 1979, in Libreville, Gabon, passed away on January 28, 2026, at the age of 46. A resident of Houston, Texas, Clement was a generous, devoted, compassionate, kind-hearted, loyal, humorous, and patient individual who touched the lives of many.
Clement was born to Cecile Aboto and Dossou Afanou. He pursued his education at the Université des Sciences et Techniques de Masuku in Gabon, earning a bachelor's degree in Biology/Geology. He furthered his studies by obtaining a Master's Degree in Geology from Université du Mali in Bamako.
Clement began his career as a geologist and later transitioned into the field of information technology, where he worked as an IT consultant and Senior Business Analyst. He was highly accomplished, holding over 20 certifications in the IT field.
In October 2015, Clement married Damaris Ongwae at the Alpha and Omega International Ministry of Faith in Sugar Land, Texas. Together, they had two children, Emmanuella and Ethan. Clement was preceded in death by his father and his sisters Baby Afanou, Aimee Afanou, and Sylvie Afanou. He is survived by his wife Damaris, his children Emmanuella and Ethan, his brothers and sisters Dennys Afanou (Mary), Christopher Afanou (Irene), Beatrice Afanou, Alexandre Afanou, Hermann Afanou, Kodjo Afanou, Emmanuel Afanou, Florence Afanou, Natalie Afanou, and Odile Afanou, his in-laws Robert (Mary) Ongwae, his brother and sisters-in-law George Onami (Tishanda), Vera Ongwae, Maureen Mukunirwa (Renatus), Marion Ongwae, and many nieces and nephews.
Clement enjoyed barbecues, fishing, spending time with family, and participating in church activities. He was passionate about acting and frequently took on roles in church plays.
A devout member of the Alpha and Omega International Ministry of Faith, Clement was dedicated to the work of God and was a faithful servant to the Houston communities and outreach programs.
Funeral services will be held at Garden Oaks Funeral Home in Houston, Texas. Visitation will take place in the Main Chapel on February 28, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The Committal will occur at Forest Park Southwest Cemetery in Richmond, Texas, on the same day from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
