

On January 29, 1932, in Dubinsson, Louisiana, a son was born to Rebecca (Lewis) Williams. She named him Clyde Bell Harris, but know to the family as Uncle Clyde (Nuck). He accepted Christ at an early age. He attended school in Houston Independent School District at Jack Yates High School. In October 1951, he joined the United States Army, serving a term in Korea, reaching the rank of Corporal. In 1953, he received an honorable release from active duty. After which he returned to Houston where he met Dorothy Williams, to this family one son and two daughters were born. Clyde later met and married Faye Harris and to this union two sons and two daughters were born. Clyde was a devoted employee with American Marble in the tile and construction business until his retirement. He loved to laugh and communicate with relatives and friends. Clyde is preceded in death by his mother (Rebecca Williams), sisters (Irene Baker and Dorothy Powell Taylor). He departed this life on October 13, 2016 He leaves to cherish memories: one son Darrell Williams, Sr. (Jean); two daughters Mala Smith and Arvis Kennedy of Houston; two sons Clyde Harris, Jr. and Courtney Harris, Kim Harris and Terry Harris all of Sacramento, California; grandchildren Darrell Williams, Jr., Nira and Mira Smith, Jamie Smith, Torrance Williams, Tarvis D. Williams and Charlie Kennedy, Jr.; ten great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
