She was born on August 24, 1948 to beaming parents John and Pearl Larcade. She was the proud big sister to Bob and Dave whom she loved and kept in line, as good big sisters would do. She graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1966 and University of Dallas in 1969.
Shortly after college she married Michael Muirhead and became a mom to two sons, Craig and Colin. Cindy was the quintessential mom; she ensured her boys were well loved, well educated, and well mannered. A lady through and through, Cindy tried to make sure her boys knew to open doors and offer a hand to any lady who might be in need.
In June of 1988 she married Robert (Bob) Owens with the blessing of his daughter Staci, whom Cindy loved as her own.
Cindy was happiest spending quality time with her husband, her children, her grandchildren and her friends. She loved a good board game, watching the birds from her deck or reading a book.
She spent many years as an office manager at Babcock & Wilcox. Cindy faithfully attended Northwest Bible Church for over 30 years cultivating a deep and abiding faith.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Owens and her precious granddaughter Ashley Nicole Muirhead. She is survived by her children Craig Muirhead and his wife Daphne, Colin Muirhead and his wife Abby, Staci Simmons and husband Michael. She is also survived by her grandchildren Nicholas, Marissa, Russell, Aubrey, Bethany, Brooke, Lillian, Asher and Kate.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Sumner Family Foundation to support efforts for treatments and ultimately a cure for ALS.
A gathering for Cynthia will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home - Champions, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX 77068. A funeral service will occur Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX 77068. A committal service will occur Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
