Cyril Willard McCain, 97, of Houston, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 2, 2014. Cyril was born on September 22, 1916, to Curtis Albert McCain and Maude Lee Harper McCain in Clear Lake, Louisiana. His early employment was in oil production in West Texas. In a second career, Cyril taught at Fonville Junior High, Fondren Junior High, and Westbury High. He was a graduate of Hardin-Simmons University and the University of Houston. He was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Mary Merle McCain. He is survived by daughter Sherry D'Alessandro of Davis, California and son Ronald of Houston. Cyril is also survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was a dedicated Christian, holding several positions of leadership in Baptist churches. Cyril was a member of Westbury Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 6, 2014 at 2 pm at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home Chapel, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077.
