

Dana was born on July 1, 1961 to Karl and Joy Langer in Trenton, NJ. After graduating from Cypress Creek High School in 1980, he went on to pursue several associate’s degrees, along with careers in customer service, quality control, and a long-time career of sports officiating.
Dana was a bold, passionate person and father. He was unendingly proud of his children and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. Dana was also a sports enthusiast. He worked over 40 years as a referee for nearly every sport imaginable, from little league baseball to lacrosse. He enjoyed many Texas sports, especially Texas A&M Aggie football. Dana was a Texan through-and-through. He often sported a pair of cowboy boots and was a talented two-stepper and loved to dance the Jitterbug.
Dana was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl & Margaretta Langer and Carl & Lois Chamberlain, and his brother, Todd Langer. He is survived by his children, Erinn & son-in-law, Chris Sweeney, Cody Langer, Tyler Langer, and Dakota Langer; his loving grandchildren Thea & Beckham Sweeney; his parents, Karl & Joy Langer; his brother, Duane Langer; his partner of 16 years, Mary Petrovich; her children, Chris Petrovich & partner, Destiny Moore, Josh Petrovich & daughter-in-law, Ashley Petrovich, Shannon Maxwell; and loving grandchildren, Colton Petrovich, Colbie Nelson, and Lillian Petrovich; and many more family members and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 20th, at Foundry United Methodist Church on Jones Road, from 10:00am until 11:00am, followed by funeral services starting at 11am. The graveside service will be at 1pm at Klein Memorial Park – Tomball at 32539 SH 249 Pinehurst, TX 77362. For those desiring, memorials may be made to Cy-Hope, an organization dedicated to making life better for kids in the Cy-Fair community and was started out of Foundry United Methodist Church.
