Danny attended St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School, Key Middle School and graduated from Kashmere High School in 1974. He also attended Texas Southern University. Danny grew up attending St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, where he was baptized, made his first communion, and also participated as an altar boy.
He later married Debra Lynn on May 25, 1984. Two children, Rien Ashley and Brandon Joseph, were born to this union.
Danny worked for the Harris County Parks Department for 25 years and retired in 2018. After retiring, he obtained his real estate license and worked in real estate for a few years. In addition, he indulged in multiple hobbies including bike riding, rooting for his favorite Houston sports teams and building and selling dog houses. Danny was Mr. Fix it/MacGyver. He could fix or rig almost anything. He loved his family deeply and if you were not family, he definitely made you feel like you were. One of his main goals in life was to bring the gift of laughter to everyone.
Danny is preceded in death by his parents, Elmo and Mary, and his brother, Paul.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: wife, Debra; children, Rien (Joel) and Brandon; grandson, Trey; brother, Sean; sisters, Sandra (Michael) and Janet; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A visitation for Danny will be held Friday, May 20, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Paradise Funeral Home, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. A visitation will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Francis Catholic Church, 5102 Dabney Street, Houston, TX 77026. A funeral service will occur Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at St. Francis Catholic Church, 5102 Dabney Street, Houston, TX 77026. A committal service will occur Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 12:30 PM to 12:45 PM at Paradise Cemetery North, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088.
