Grandchildren Alissa, Gavin, Jacob, Aurora, Preston, and Jaxon. Brother Gary Falls and Sisters Claudia Williamson, Judy Potts- McGovern, Carol Bradshaw
Falls was a long time member of the Spring Fire Department, celebrating his 29th anniversary on the day of his passing. He joined Spring in 1987 where he climbed up the ranks of Firefighter, Captain, Senior Captain .
Falls' brother firefighter described him as a work-horse, a leader, approachable and influential. His most used line in the firehouse was "just roll with it, it will be ok." Richardson was a former member of the Spring Fire Department and worked directly under Falls command. Richardson said that he was constantly doing something; running circles around everyone. Richardson said that Falls told him many fire ground stories. We would like to share one that stood out to use and showed his dedication to helping others. "Darrell was the 7th truck in the fire" said Richardson. "He stretched a 2 inch hose line all by himself up to the second story but ran out short before making entry into the fire building. Darrell didn't let that stop him" Richardson explained. "He banked water off the adjacent wall, redirecting his water stream onto the fire. The man was a genius!"
"The Spring Fire Department is mourning the passing of Darrell Falls, a 29 year member of the department. Darrell was an asset to the department, he will be greatly missed by all. Our heart is broken and extend condolences to the Falls family and friends."- Scott Seifert, Fire Chief Spring Fire Department
