He is Survived by the love of his life for 23 years, his wife Tresy Knapps, his children Michael Knapps and his fiancé Michelle and Steven Knapps. Also John Bradley and wife Tammy, Glen Bradley and wife Jill, Bunni McQueen, David Bradley and B.J. Smith and husband Andy. His sister Brenda Morse and husband Steve and Karen Roelke. He was preceded in death by his sister Diane Cothran, Brother Jerry Knapps and Karen’s husband Gregg Roelke.
He had 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, many cousin, nephews, nieces and friends that always said he was “one of a kind.”
Darryl proudly served in the United States Navy as a 1st class seaman.
He loved to travel with Tresy seeing the history in the U.S. Darryl loved playing golf but his favorite thing was playing with the great-grandkids who absolutely adored him, their “Grandpa.” He will truly be missed.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Fisher House #1 Houston, 2002 Holcomb Blvd, Houston, TX, 77030, where Tresy stayed for 35 days while Darryl was well cared for at the Michael E. Debakey V.A. Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at the Houston National Cemetery.
