

David Allen Paschall, 81, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026, in Harris County. Born on July 24, 1944, in Crowley, Louisiana, to John Parker Paschall and Betty (Bridges) Paschall, David grew up on Hazelton Street in Houston before settling in the Memorial area, where he made his home for most of his adult life. A proud graduate of the University of Houston, he built a distinguished career as an estimator and engineer specializing in infrastructure mega-projects. For many years with Bechtel, his expertise in precise cost estimation and project planning contributed to some of the world's most ambitious engineering endeavors. Known for his dedication, sly smile, sharp mind, and steady approach to complex challenges, David played a key role in shaping large-scale infrastructure. David was a devoted husband to his surviving wife, Mary Francis Paschall. He cherished his family and the life they built together in Houston. He is survived by his son, who he taught to think, Rob Paschall, and Rob's wife, Angie Paschall, who reside in Iowa with their beloved cats and near Angie's family; his wife's nieces, Tammy Kennedy and her son's Brett (deceased) and son Ryan Rougeou, and Amanda Patterson and her husband Jody Patterson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Steve. Jody Patterson and Ryan Rougeou will serve as honorary pallbearers.
A graveside service will be held at Memorial Oaks on Memorial Drive in Houston, on january 17th at 11:30 am
He will be missed.
