

Dawn was born on the 18th of February 1969, in Houston, Texas. She was a “Lifer” at Second Baptist School. Upon graduation, Dawn attended Baylor University and American University. While in Washington D.C., Dawn coached the cheerleading team at Langley High School and became passionate about politics. Dawn worked on many political campaigns including serving as campaign manager for several candidates. She also served as Precinct Chairman for her Briargrove neighborhood and served on the board of the Magic Circle Republican Women’s Club.
Dawn was an officer of her family’s real estate companies and the Williams Family Foundation. She was a member of the Junior League of Houston. Dawn chaired EagleFest 2008 for Second Baptist School and was the class agent for the Class of ’87. She enjoyed her active involvement with the Love and Respect bible study and the sixth grade Gatekeepers prayer group.
Dawn attended Second Baptist Church and served in many leadership roles. Dawn met her husband Clay in the Amazing Race bible study class. She was a member of the Guild and on the President’s Advisory Council at Houston Baptist University. She initiated the search for the new HBU Husky mascot, Kiza II.
Dawn had many passions. Dawn was a devoted and caring wife and was a loving mother to her two sons, Jared and Payne. She loved to watch them play sports and was a team mother for many of their teams. Dawn loved to travel, especially to Hawaii. Dawn was an avid reader; her favorite books were mystery novels. She enjoyed tennis and golf, and won the ladies pro-am championship at the Mercedes tournament in Kapalua, Maui two consecutive years. She possessed the gift of hospitality, both for planning and hosting events. Dawn had a great sense of humor and was always the life of the party.
Dawn is preceded in death by her son, Samuel Trozzo; and her sister, Denise Williams.
She is survived by her husband, Clay Trozzo; her sons, Jared and Payne; her parents, Diane and Stanley Williams; her brother, Jay Williams and his wife, Dena, and nieces Alex and Lily; her parents-in-law, Carolyn and Ernie Trozzo; her brother-in-law, Matt Trozzo and his wife, Jess, and nephew Jace and niece Annie; and her brother-in- law Michael Trozzo and his wife, Lindsey.
The memorial service is to be conducted at noon on Thursday, the 17th of May, in the Sanctuary of Second Baptist Church, 6400 Woodway Drive in Houston, where Dr. H. Edwin Young, Pastor, is to serve as the lead officiant, with Rev. Ben Young and Dr. Jim Deloach assisting.
Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception to be held in the Atrium of Second Baptist Church.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions, in Dawn’s honor, be directed to Second Baptist School, Attn: Julie Applegate, 6410 Woodway Dr., Houston, TX, 77057; or to the charity of one’s choice.
