

Deidra Marshelle Walker, 65, peacefully went to be with her Lord on April 1, 2026. She was born on December 31, 1960, in Mobile, Alabama, to Otis and Sarah Walker.
Deidra began her education in the Mobile County Public School System, where she excelled academically. She had a deep appreciation for music, playing the piano and later the flute in her school band. She graduated from Toulminville High School in 1977, where she was highly regarded by her teachers and band director for her talent and dedication.
Following graduation, Deidra attended the University of South Alabama and later Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in 1983 and was inducted into the Beta Kappa Chi Scientific Honor Society in recognition of her academic achievements. During her time at Texas Southern, she was also a proud member of the renowned Ocean of Soul Marching Band. She later pursued graduate studies in Psychology at Walden University.
After college, Deidra made Houston her home and devoted much of her professional life to the healthcare field. She began her career at MacGregor Medical Clinic, where she coordinated patient care, and later served as a Medical Insurance Benefits Coordinator, helping countless individuals navigate their healthcare needs.
Family was the center of Deidra’s life. She welcomed her daughter in 1977 and her son in 1990. In her later years, her greatest joy came from her two beloved grandchildren, whom she adored and cherished deeply, showering them with love and affection.
Deidra was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ethel Green; her grandfather, Charles Green; her childhood friend, Nora Moore; her great-aunt, Emma Malone; and her uncles, George Green, Leonard Thompson and Charlie Green, all of Mobile, Alabama.
She leaves to cherish her memory a loving mother, Sarah Walker; her daughter, Shakara Worrell (Brian); her son, Kyle Moore (Demi); her granddaughter, Reign Worrell; her grandson, Micah Worrell; and a host of extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
Deidra’s life was one defined by resilience and faith. Though her absence will leave a void, she will live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew her.
