Diana Marcell Powell

Diana Marcell (Dacke) Powell, of Elkhart, Indiana, Loving Mother, Faithful Wife, Awesome Daughter, Incredible Grandmama’ and Gracious “First Lady” (Lady Di) was born June 16, 1956 in Houston, Texas and peacefully transitioned from this earthly realm into the presence of God on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 11:20 pm.

A lady of great faith, hope and never giving up, she is survived by her husband of almost 41 years, Pastor David Powell (Connexions Church) of Elkhart, and her children; Heather (Rob) Cavanaugh of Elkhart, IN Clay (Kristin) Powell of Waynesville, MO, and Seth Powell and soon to be “Daughter in Love” Allison Moore of Mishawaka, IN. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Davina and Josiah Schrock, Jordan, Riley and Cameron Powell, whom she adored and was absolutely devoted to. Also surviving are her parents, David and Letha Dacke of Livingston, TX, her brother, Darrell Dacke of League City, TX, “Brother in Love” Marvin Powell of Dayton, TX, “Sister in Loves” Mildred (Eldon) Benton of Nacogdoches, TX, and Greta (Leon) Barnett of Shepherd, TX. Also surviving are 9 nieces, 2 nephews & their families, aunts, uncles, cousins, a host of friends throughout the nation, and a loving church family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and whose lives she touched with her unwavering faith, steadfast relationship with God, her beauty, and her gracious, loving ways.

Visitation will be held from 3:30-6:00 pm Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Grace Church of Humble, 7224 N. Sam Houston Parkway East, Humble, TX, 77396, with a celebration of her life to begin at 6:00pm. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery at 1:00 pm May 5, 2014. Diana’s funeral service will be streamed live at 6:00 pm (CST) via the websitewww.gracechurchlive.com
