

Dilys Kanga Lentz was born in Bombay, India on February 21, 1926 to Eric and Daisy Kanga. She passed away February 21, 2016 on her 90th birthday. She was preceded in death by husband Jack Sumner Lentz and daughter Maureen Stephens. Survived by daughter Mikolette Carlisle, husband Jack Carlisle Jr of Shreveport, LA and grandson Jack Carlisle III of Los Angeles, CA; step-daughter Maxine Kelly and husband Dennis, step-grandson Michael Kelly and wife April, step-great-granddaughters Katelyn and Lauren Kelly all of Kingwood, TX; granddaughter Laura Tompkins and husband Charles, great-granddaughter Taryn Young; grandson Scott Butler and great-granddaughters Jackie and Autumn Butler all of Tulsa, OK.
For 26 years, Dilys was the concierge of the Lancaster Hotel of Houston, TX, retiring in her 80s. She was a respected and revered member of the International Concierge Association Les Clefs d’or receiving their lifetime achievement award. Dilys was known as a gracious and elegant lady. Her love of working in the hotel business came from traveling and living in hotels owned by her father. Dilys lived an interesting young life living in India; Nirobi, Kenya; and visiting her relatives in England and Scotland.
Her family wishes to thank Eva Garretson, Beatriz Vargas, BJ Baltrip and Harbor Hospice for all their loving care. A private family service will be held at a later date in Shreveport, LA and condolences can be sent to Mikolette Carlisle, 1520 Concord Drive, Shreveport, LA 71105.
Dilys was a wonderful wife and mother and always had a song in her heart.
