Donnell Thomas was born in Wharton, Tx. On December 20, 1949 to William and Valarie Thomas. Who proceeded him in death.
Donnell graduated from MC Williams High School in 1969. He attended Lamar University in
Beaumont, Tx. for one year studying General Education.
Donnell received Christ at an early age at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
He begin working for the City of Houston Water Department in 1972. He retired in 2004.
On July 1, 1975, He married the love of his life, Dorothy Thomas who proceeded him in death
(2005) along with Bertha Sanders Cyrus-Daughter (2018) and Clifton Johnson-Grandson
(2011).
In 2005 Donnell became a member of Greater Grace Outreach Church. He was a Deacon and
an Usher. He was involved in various church functions. At the time of his passing he was
employed with First Choice Delivery Service.
He leaves to mourn: Daughter, Ulyssia “Nana” Prescott-Lewis (Willie); Two Grandsons, Joseph
“Tiny” Johnson Sr(Lawanda& TyRell Fisher; Sister, Gloria Jean Thomas Hargrove; Two Brothers,
Earl & Jessie M. (Debra) Thomas; Aunt, Shirley Lott; Five Nephews, Carl (Sheky ), Earl, Jessie
Thomas, Elvis Hargrove Jr, & Donald D. Staten Jr(Crystal).; Neice, Alisha Thomas; Great
Nephew, Andre Thomas; 2 Great Neice’s, Eryka & Eryin Thomas; Son-n-law, Albert Cyrus;
Bonus Son, Dmarques Wooten; Extended Family friend, Betty Benton; Dear friend, Deolanda
Clark; Eight Great Grandchildren; Five Great Great Grandchildren; GGOC Family; and a host of
relatives and friends.
