

A proud second generation Houstonian, she was born on October 27, 1918 to Margaret Carnes and Dr. Ben Weems Turner.
She attended Kinkaid School for 12 years and graduated in 1935, Kinkaid's first graduating class. She attended the University of Texas for two years and Rice Institute for two years, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1940. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority at the University of Texas and the Elizabeth Baldwin Society at Rice Institute.
She was a member of River Oaks Country Club, the Junior League of Houston, the River Oaks Garden Club and the Southern Garden Club.
Dotty's family was the focus of her life: children Ann Glauser Dowell, Harry J. Glauser III and wife Judy, and Camille Glauser Canion and husband Rod, grandchildren Stephen Dowell and wife Kathleen, Chris Dowell and wife Karmen, Kelly Dowell and wife Shannon, Lisa Glauser Witcher and husband Mark, Craig Glauser and wife Molly, Scott Canion and wife Carol, Candace Canion Dickerson and husband Craig, Noelle Canion Courson and husband Craig, Laura Canion Chiles and husband Brett, Ross Canion and wife Sarah Jane, 22 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, niece Margo Williams Connolly and husband Michael, and nephew Carson Williams and wife Joann. Dotty took great pride in and deeply loved her family.
Dotty has been joyfully reunited with those who have gone before her: parents Margaret and Ben Weems Turner, husband Harry Glauser, Jr., son Scott Turner Glauser, brother Ben Weems Turner Jr., sister Margaret Turner Williams and her husband Edward Carson Williams.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Hallmark, her home for the last 16 years, for their loving care, and Sandra Monsivais and Ella Briscoe for the comfort they provided during Dotty's last days.
The memorial service will be conducted at eleven o'clock in the morning on Saturday, August 25, in the Sanctuary of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer Road. Immediately following the service, all are invited to a reception in the foyer adjacent to the Chapel.
