

A native of Mississippi, she went to work for Southern Bell Telephone Co. after graduating from Hattiesburg High School in Mississippi. After marriage, she and her husband was transferred to Houston in the late 40's and she was subsequently employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., until her retirement in 1987. She was active in church and Ladies Junior Forum for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Sebastain E. Hoey of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; two brothers, Williams S. and Harry J. Hoey; and husbands, Frank Mintz, Tracey L. Freeman and A.W. Clifton. Mrs. Freeman is survived by one brother, Brig. Gen (Ret) Stanislaus J. Hoey of Pensacola, Florida; a stepdaughter, Mary Ellan Long of Spring, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service is to be conducted a half past one o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, the 23rd of March in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston, where Rev. Darrell Nunley, is to officiate.
Graveside services and interment will follow at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
