The good Lord saw fit to call Douglas Robert Cooper(64), home on May 28, 2018. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Brother and friend to many. He was born on November 5, 1953. Doug was a graduate of Wharton County Community College and worked for Center Point Energy for 42 years (the original HL&P), where he preached Safety 1st. He was an avid sports fan and player, routing for the Celtics, Astros, and Texans. Doug was a true believer of Christ and worshiped with his family on Sunday mornings.
Doug has joined his parents Vance and Esterline Cooper in heaven. He is survived by his Wife of 35 years Elizabeth Cooper, sons Robert A. Cooper (Audrey) and Douglas A. Cooper (Nikkole), grandchildren Anthony, Skyler, Madison, and Bryce and siblings Mike (Beth), Vance (Margaret), Donna Kay (Jack) and Mary (Jerry) as well as several nieces and nephews.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
A celebration memorial service for Doug’s life with be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 5000 W Tidwell Rd, Houston, TX 77091, on June 1, 2018 at 3p.m. In lieu of flowers the family is asking you send donations in memory of Douglas Cooper to the Wounded Warrior Project.
