Duane grew up in Houston, Texas, where he learned his trade as a mechanic from his father. Him and his wife owned and operated D&D LACT Services for many years before they retired. After he retired, he refocused on his love of classic cars and could always be found working on one in his shop. He enjoyed taking the cars he rebuilt and showing them at local car shows. He enjoyed planting vegetable gardens every spring, and working on odd projects around the house near Plantersville, Texas. Though he was not a religious man, he was very spiritual.
