Born in Conway, Arkansas, on October 30, 1979, to the late Dr. Charles Wesley Ford, Jr., and Dr. Dwedor Morais Ford Massaquoi, Dr. Dwedor Weslyne Ford, a devoted mother, beloved daughter, sister, scholar, and woman of deep faith, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, in Houston, Texas. She was 45 years old.
From an early age, she embraced a life of faith, accepting the Lord and eventually answering the call to spiritual leadership as a minister. She served as Division Director and Assistant Professor at Prairie View A&M University, where she was known for her visionary leadership, excellence in teaching, and deep commitment to students and faculty. She was awarded tenure, effective September 2025—a testament to her outstanding contributions to academia earning her national recognition and respect.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Dwedor-Reecie McKynsli Robinson, who was the light of her life and her proudest joy. She also leaves behind her loving mother and caregiver, Dr. Dwedor Morais Ford Massaquoi (Hon. Chris); siblings: Chanita (Rod), Charlise, and Charles, III (Chantel); nieces: Kailyn, Kwendalyn, Charli, and Clover and nephews: Carrvey and Chadow.
Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of her family, friends, students, and all who were touched by her grace, brilliance, and boundless love. She will be remembered not only for her academic achievements but also for her beautiful spirit, her laughter, her strength, and her unwavering faith.
In accordance with Dr. Ford’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or repast.
