Edith was a creative, loving, and giving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She particularly enjoyed sewing and cooking holiday meals for her family. Her greatest pleasure came from attending services and fellowshipping with the members at the church of Christ in Crosby where she was a long-time member.
Preceding her in death is her beloved husband Marvin, daughter Lynnette Tyler, parents Brown and Lizzie (Robnett) Staggs, brothers Howard Staggs, Dale Staggs, and John Staggs, and sister Gladys Staggs, all of Tennessee.
Survivors include daughters Karen Michaelson and Carol Taylor of Houston, Sherry (Johnny) Wheeler of Huffman, and son Terry (Kristin) Nutt of Crosby. She is also survived by grandchildren Michelle Michaelson, Monica (Roy) Hann, Leslie (Brian) Nelson, Jon (Andrea) Wheeler, Jay (Ashlee) Wheeler, Jason Wheeler, Lindsay (Corey) Fernandez, Lauren (Travis) Whipple, Courtney (Eric) Beckner, and Ryan Nutt; great-grandchildren Kayla (Jose) Escobar, Justin Cason, Tyler Cason, Kelly Cason, Jacob Nelson, Garrett Nelson, Brooke Wheeler, Caleb Wheeler, Darcy Wheeler, Emily Wheeler, Flint Wheeler, Georgia Wheeler, Kyle Wheeler, Addison Wheeler, Cailynn Wheeler, Presley Fernandez, Harper Fernandez, Brock Whipple, and Cannon Beckner. She is also survived by two great-great-grandchildren Madison Escobar and her baby brother, a sister Rubye Dugger of Kingwood, and a beloved niece Cheryl Dugger Prazak of Marshall, Texas.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00. Funeral service will be Saturday morning at 10:00 followed by a graveside service with Richard George officiating.
