Edith Barbara Schoen (Bruetsch) passed away on June 14, 2012. She was born in Schaffhausen, Switzerland in 1939. Edith is survived by her husband of 45 years, Bob Schoen; children, Daniel Schoen and Andrea Smith; daughter-in-law Tammy Schoen; son-in-law Greg Smith; sister-in-laws Suzanne Grossberg of New York and Barbara Bruetsch of Switzerland; brother-in-law Kurt Wanner; granddaughters, Heather and Laci Schoen; grandson, Rory Smith, Grandchildren Charlie & Shelby Guthrie; her extended family in Switzerland and in the United States and several cousins, friends, and coworkers. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, Heinrich and Erika Bruetsch; her brother, Heinrich Bruetsch; sisters, Marianne Bruetsch and Erika Wanner, all in Switzerland. Edith studied nursing in Switzerland and worked in St Louis, Missouri. She moved with her husband and children to Houston in 1976 and worked in Hermann Hospital until she retired. There will be a Visitation at 9 am and Funeral Service at 10 am on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home.
