

Edward Dixon Quin, affectionately known as Ed, passed away on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2023, at the age of 95. Born in Galveston, Texas, Ed spent his formative years in Waco before establishing his long-term home in Houston, where he was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing.
Ed leaves behind a legacy marked by his immense love for his family and his steadfast commitment to his Catholic faith. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Marjorie Quin, and their three children: David Quin, Sandra Heaslet, and Kathleen Voss. His memory will also be cherished by his three grandchildren: Emily Quin, Nathaniel Heaslet, and Gretchen Voss, as well as his brother, Francis Michael Quin.
Ed's life was characterized by dedicated service and profound love. A proud Navy veteran of the Korean War, this chapter of his life significantly shaped his character. Following his service, he utilized the GI Bill to further his education, becoming a proud alumnus of the University of Texas in 1956. After graduation, Ed embarked on a long and successful career as a computer programmer analyst.
Ed was a fan of watching the Astros and Longhorns, but bowling was his greatest passion. He actively organized and participated in his weekly bowling league, cherishing the moments shared with friends there. In addition, Ed was a dedicated supporter and founding member of both St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church and the St. Justin Mavericks Senior Group.
Above all, Ed will be remembered for his kind, patient, and loving nature, living out his faith as a true "man for others." His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who knew him.

A visitation for Edward will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at St Justin Martyr Catholic Community, 13350 Ashford Point Dr, Houston, TX 77082. A funeral service will follow 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
A committal service will occur Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077.
