

Elaine Curtis Kantenberger, 79, went to be with her Lord January 18, 2014 at Memorial Hermann Medical Center following a sudden brain aneurism. A loving, devoted wife and mother, Elaine most enjoyed spending her time with her family. Her sweet, thoughtful nature endeared her to so many who will miss her glorious smile, friendly kind words, gentle disposition and beautiful way of wanting to be helpful to whoever might need it. She was born, grew up and was educated in Dallas, Texas, was a graduate of Sunset High School and Southern Methodist University where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority and also was selected a Rotunda Beauty two years in a row. She married the love of her life, Dick
Kantenberger, on June 8, 1958.
They started their family when son Curtis arrived in 1960, then moved to Houston in 1960 where they built their house and expanded their family, when daughter Catherine arrived in 1962. Ever since her life happily revolved around her family.She is survived by her husband Richard "Dick" Kantenberger of Houston, her son and daughter-in-law Richard Curtis and Kimberly Grace Kantenberger of Oklahoma City, her daughter and son-in-law Catherine Elaine Kantenberger and J. Jay Flynn of Kalispell, Montana, her granddaughter Crystal Rose Kantenberger of Houston, her grandson Ian Kantenberger Flynn of Kalispell, Montana, and her granddaughters Amber Nicole Donalson of Houston and Heather Weiss of Los Angeles. She was preceded in death by her father, Jerome Alphonse Curtis, her mother Elva Catherine Odell Curtis, and her brother Richard Jerome Curtis.A service will be held at 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas on Friday, January 24 at 2 pm in the main chapel of Forest Park Westheimer.
