

Our beloved husband, father, and pawpaw, Elbert Leslie Hoop, Jr. (known to most as Jr.) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the age of 70. He is survived by his loving wife, Deena Hoop.
Jr. was born in El Campo, Texas on July 7, 1955, to parents Elbert Leslie Hoop, Sr. and Gloria Mae Hoop. He met Deena Mitcham in Houston, Texas, and they married on September 14, 1974. Jr. and Deena were married for fifty-one wonderful years and blessed with three loving daughters. Jr. worked as an automobile mechanic for 36 years and an oil field equipment mechanic for 12 years before his retirement in 2021. He had a passion for traveling, woodworking, hunting, and family gatherings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Hoop, Sr. and Gloria Hoop, and his siblings, Melody Seale, Pamela Middleton, and Steven Hoop.
He is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Tammy Paynter (Paul Paynter), Ronda Biondillo (Vincent Biondillo) and Jessica Harris (Josh Harris), siblings and their spouses, Glenda Toney (Gerald Toney) and Darell Hoop (Jeannette Sharp), grandchildren, Kaitlin Paynter, Kira Smith, Michael Paynter, Kallen Weeks, Hally Harris, David Biondillo and Arabella Harris, sister-in-law, Lanieca Perdue (and husband, Gary Perdue), brother-in-law, David Mitcham and numerous family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers are son-in-laws, Paul Paynter, Vincent Biondillo and Josh Harris and grandsons, Michael Paynter, Kallen Weeks and David Biondillo.
A celebration of life will be held January 6, 2026, with visitation from 10:00am to 1:00pm, funeral service at 1:30pm, and graveside service at 2:30pm.
