Elouise Gomez Ybarbo

Elouise Gomez Ybarbo, age 96, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 27, 2021. Elouise was born on April 6, 1925 in Yorktown, Texas. Her father raised her after her mother passed away at age 7. She met John Ybarbo and married at the age of 16 in Lubbock, Texas. They were married for 60 years until her husband, John, passed away.

She was a custom drapery shop owner and a housewife for many years. Elouise attended the Beneke Methodist Church for 12 years. She was talented and creative in different crafts requiring sewing. She had a passion for quilting.

A special thanks to Hirma Hernandez, who was a devoted caretaker for 2 years.

Elouise is preceded in death by her husband, John Ybarbo(01-11-2001); and parents, Antonio and Juliana Gomez. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Irene Ybarbo Medrano(John), Rosemarie Ybarbo DeLeon(Daniel), and son, Johnny Lee Ybarbo(Gloria); 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and family for a visitation on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will follow and begin promptly at 1:30 PM followed by burial at Brookside Memorial Park.
