Emilia (Emily) Luna Davila joined heaven peacefully on Tuesday, November 17, 2015. She was an amazing wife, mother, aunt, cousin and friend to many. She was a servant to the Lord and she made it a life’s mission to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to everyone she came in contact to. She was full of life, energy, laughter and had a heart of gold; always findings ways to give to others. She had a smile that was contagious. Once a friend, she would be a friend forever. She was a gift from heaven, an angel the Lord gave us for a short time. She will be with us always and we will carry her in our hearts for the rest of our lives.
We find comfort knowing that she is in complete health, praising our Lord and Savior and united with love ones. We have the guarantee that we will be united with her again one day for an eternity.
Emilia was born in New Braunfels, Texas to Eustacio & Virginia Luna on February 8, 1949. In 1966, she married the love of her life Onofre Davila Jr. and they had to children; Julie & Mario. In 1986 The Davila’s moved to Houston, Texas and made it their home. Emily was a dedicated mother and she loved her family dearly. There was nothing that she would not do for them. She was their biggest supporter, encourager and defender.
Emily was a genius in the kitchen and was well known for her tamales, cakes and many, many scrumptious dishes. She catered for over 30 years in New Braunfels and in the Houston area. She not only prepared the food but she was also the life of the party.
Emily was an active member of Lakewood Church and was employed there for the last 8 years. In her most recent assignment she was a prayer partner in the pastoral care ministry and she had the opportunity to pray for people from all over the world. She was a Mighty Prayer Warrior!
She successfully completed her earthly assignment and we know when she entered heaven the Lord said Matthew 25:23 - “Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!”
She is preceded in death by her immediate family members – parents, Eustacio & Virginia Luna and Brother, Eustacio Luna Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years of Marriage; Onofre Davila, Daughter, Julie Davila, Son, Mario Davila and Daughter-In-Law, Catherine Davila.
