Ernest Castillo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He leaves behind a legacy rooted deeply in love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those he held closest to his heart.
Ernest was born into the loving family of Matias and Martina Castillo, and was raised by his parents, Jesse and Teresa Castillo, who instilled in him the values of strength, protection, and the importance of family.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Valerie Castillo, who stood by his side through life’s journey. Together, they built a family that Ernest was incredibly proud of. He was a devoted father to Ashley Michelle Medina, Anthony Ernest Castillo, and Alyssa Jessie Castillo, and a proud and loving grandfather to Bryson Anthony Castillo and Mateo Angel Medina, who brought him endless joy and laughter.
Ernest is also survived by his loving siblings, Beatrice Villanueva and Norma Dominguez, and was preceded in death by his brother, Jesse Anthony Castillo. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever cherish his memory.
From an early age, Ernest’s greatest ambition was simple but meaningful—to be a loving husband, a dedicated father, and a proud grandfather. He fulfilled that purpose wholeheartedly, always putting his family first and making sure they felt protected, supported, and deeply loved.
He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—watching his favorite TV show Home Improvement, listening to 80’s music and rap, playing games, and enjoying sports and movies. Some of his most treasured memories were family trips to Brownsville, where laughter, bonding, and love were always at the center.
Ernest had a personality that was impossible to forget. He was known for his big heart, his goofy sense of humor, and the way he could light up a room with his smile. He taught those around him the importance of being strong, standing up for loved ones, and never losing the ability to laugh.
Above all, Ernest loved his family—his wife Valerie, his children, his grandchildren, his siblings, and all of his extended family—with his whole heart. That love will continue to live on in each of them.
He will be remembered as a man who smiled often, loved deeply, protected fiercely, and lived with a joyful, playful spirit.
Forever loved. Forever missed.
