Ervin Ned Sr.

Ervin “T-Cap” Ned Sr. age 95, of Houston, Texas passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024, after a long illness in the comfort of his home.

He was born in Evangeline Parish in the state of Louisiana on March 14, 1929 to Mr. Melvin Ned and Ms. Oriela Fontenot Ned. He was married to Ethel H. Ned. To that union, 9 children were born; two of them preceded him in death, Pearl O. Lee and Bryant E. Ned.

Mr. Ned worked as a self- employed concrete contractor for over 50 years. He also operated a small café-style eatery. He was successful at these endeavors, despite only having a limited education.

He leaves to cherish his memory, seven daughters: Linda Owens (Roosevelt), Willia Mallet, Gloria Ned, Catherine Hill, Becky Tezeno, Detra Flakes and Kathryn Duckworth; one son, Ervin Ned Jr.; one brother-in-law, James Holland, and bonus daughter, Dana Stephens; 23 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren; 48 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation for Ervin will be held Friday, August 2, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Christian Faith Baptist Church, 4306 Brinkley St, Houston, TX 77051. The funeral service will immediately follow from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM,. The committal will be held from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Paradise Funeral Home & Cemetery North, 10401 W Montgomery Rd, Houston, TX 77088.
