

Celebrating 100 yrs of life, Frances Margaret Carbone, with her 3 daughters at her bedside, went to be with her Lord and Savior, gloriously entering the gates of heaven, on Saturday, May 10th, at 9:27 pm.
She lived a life of service for God and for her loved ones. Her greatest joy was helping her family in any way she could. She prayed countless prayers for her family and friends. Her faith and trust in God were immeasurable and she proved that through all her victories on her earthly journey. She gave God her very best and He gave her His very best.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper, known as Jap, over 49 yrs ago. Later in her life, she was preceded in death by her dear sister, Mary, married to Nick Bua, and then, her loving brother, Sam, married to Lucille Covernale.
At the time of her husband Jap's death, their 3 daughters were attending Incarnate Word Academy. She continued running the family owned grocery store with the help of her uncle, Joe Colca. After selling the business some years later, she worked as a seamstress at an alteration shop owned by her cousin. After the shop closed, she continued working as an office manager, until she finally, and at last, decided to retire at the age of 90. In 2007, her son, Charles, went to be the Lord after losing his battle with diabetes.
She is survived by her sister, Jo Bankston, affectionately called Fena. Next, by her oldest daughter, Bernadine and husband, Mike Szydlik, and their daughter, Stacey, their son, Steven, and wife Amanda. Next, her daughter, Jackie, and husband, Gerald Bogue, and their son, Mike, his wife, Lane, and their son, Colton. Their daughter, Lauren, and her husband, Heith Rothman, and their daughter, Ava. Also, her youngest daughter, Janis and then, Charles' son, Chris, and his wife, Joanne, and their 6 sons: Christopher and fiancé, Aubrey, Nicholas, Daniel, Michael, Joey and Ryan. She has numerous nieces and nephews and has been loved and admired by all of her family and friends for her strength and determination, and gentle spirit.
She enjoyed her membership in the Tapawingo Club for more than 70 yrs and was a long time member of the Ladies of the Sacred Heart. She loved to cook and was known for her baking treats such as Italian cookies, peach cobbler, coconut pie and pizza. Her son- in -laws repeatedly said: "If Mom cooked a brick, it would be delicious".
Friends are invited to attend the Rosary with the Ladies of The Sacred Heart on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 5:00 pm in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024 with a Visitation with the family at 6:00 pm and a Vigil service at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1505 Kane St., Houston, TX 77007. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 8004 Airline, Houston, TX 77007.
