On December 12, 1923, the 3rd of 3 children, a baby girl was born to Luberta Gee and Perry Woodard; whom they named Freddie Lee Jordan. As she was brought into the world, her mother was taken from it. She never had the opportunity to be nurtured, loved, or mothered by her biological mother. However, her father made a vowel to make sure she had the best education and love. She was raised by her father in Cedar Lake Texas, until she was sent to her aunt to finish school in Houston. Upon finishing high school from Jack Yates in Third Ward, Texas; she attended college and received her Bachelor of Education.
Freddie Lee Woodard (Chilly) and Umbre Nelson Jordan, Sr. (Honey) married on September 24, 1943. They were married for over 60 years until his death in 2016. After marriage, Freddie became an educator, where she influenced the lives of children for over 30 years. After retirement, she gardened and enjoyed life with her family.
Freddie Lee Woodard (Chilly) departed this life on Saturday, December 26, 2020. She is preceded in death by her husband, Umbre Neslon Jordan, Sr.; mother and father; Oscar Woodard, brother; Louethal, sister; son, Perry Jordan; daughter, Deneise Moss; and grandson, Shannon Roberson.
Left to cherish her precious memory is her son, Umbre Nelson Jordan, Jr.; five grandchildren Nanyamka Moss, Shaneka Jeffery, Perry Jordan, Hershal Jeffery, and Howard Jeffery, Jr.; seven great grandchildren Jazmine Wesley, Shannon Roberson, Keenan Roberson, Mereya Martin, Sedrick Walker Jr., Deneise Walker, and Skylar Walker, two great-great grandchildren Jayce Harris and Amir Stubblefield and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church community family, and friends.
