Freddie Lee Thomas was born September 9, 1941 in Beaumont (Pear Auchie) Texas to Evolla T. Newsome. Freddie graduated from Hebert High School in 1959. After high school, he furthered his education at Wiley College in Marshall Texas where he met his beautiful wife Ada D. Arnsworth. The two were united in marriage March 30, 1963 and remained faithful to their vows for 52 years. To this union were born two children.
Freddie began his Christian journey as a member of West Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was baptized at an early age.
Freddie moved to Houston Texas in 1963. Shortly thereafter, he began working for General Electric, where he was employed over 40 years until he retired.
Freddie loved life. He enjoyed attending Houston Texans, Rockets and Astros games. He was not only a spectator, he also played for the General Electric baseball team. Freddie had a love for fishing which he shared with his grandsons. Freddie played the saxophone for which he received a college scholarship.
Freddie touched the lives of everyone around him. So much so that the cousins he grew up with were more like siblings. His niece and nephew were his best friends. A neighbor, a co-worker and spouse grew to be more like his children. His sisters-in-law were simply his sisters.
Freddie is preceded in death by his wife Ada D. Thomas and his mother Evolla Newsome.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Angelia Yvette Thomas and Erica Lynn Thomas, grandsons Kenneth D. Thomas (Rachel) and Aaron Thomas Booker (Keira), one grand-daughter Autumn D.A. Thomas, great grandchildren Kennedy J. Thomas, Dylan J. Thomas and Caiden (CJ) Thomas, aunt Bertha Dell Johnson and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
