Freds visits are indeed missed at the Straitwell residence.  He had a super great heart full of love

I remember being a young boy and every year around November I would get super excited!!  This is because we would pack up all of our hunting gear and head to the Deer lease. Most of the time Fred & Rocky dog were already up there waiting on us.   It was on that Stump farm in the piney woods of East Texas that I learned many life lessons…  Fred was responsible for several of those lessons….  Fred helped teach me how to hunt, shoot a gun, skin a deer, and catch the biggest largemouth bass I have ever landed.  That Bass is still in my mancave to this day!!

 Thank you, Fred, because you have fed me for a lifetime!

I love you and for that I am eternally grateful.


When I moved to Houston in mid 70s,  I spent many an evening with  Frederick.  We would drive around in his truck,  go out to eat and even drink a little beer.   He scared me to death riding on back of his motorcycle.   But more than that we laughed a lot together.  We shared lots of stories together.  Great memories for our late teenage years.  Also childhood times of Christmas morning together.  Cousin your smile will be missed.

My family was so blessed to have Fred in our lives.  He was a very strong man that always did for others and he never let anything get in the way.  He could find a way to make you smile even if life had you down.  He was a true brother to my husband and a loving uncle to my children.    My fondest memories of Fred all bring me back to  deer camp.  We looked forward to seeing him there.  Camp was where we would all slow down and enjoy each other's company.  The guys would share stories about things they did when they were young and Fred would just sit back and laugh. He knew better than to open that can of worms.  But, he always had something new and interesting to share with us.  He loved new toys! If he wasn't sharing his new toy, he was cooking for all of us.  Even there he was still doing for others.  It made Fred happy being together and just enjoying life.  I also remember the day Fred and Linda were married.  Such a beautiful couple!  They were blessed with a bond that could not be broken. Not everyone is lucky enough to find that  kind of love.  It is still hard to imagine not seeing Fred  but I know he is happy with the Lord and he is smiling down on us.  I pray for God to grant everyone peace and healing through this most difficult time.  May you rest in peace Fred.  We love you and miss you.

You and Linda loved and adored each other so much.  And you both took good care of each other.  Thank you Linda for all you did for him, he depended on you.  He wanted to make you happy and give you whatever you wanted and he liked to surprise you.
Thank you Frederick for being such a loving and caring brother to your siblings and an awesome son to our Mother  (she loves you so.)  Some of your many gifts were loving, caring, giving and helping each and everyone one of us.  You never met a stranger and had a lot of friends which you made so easily.  After our Dad passed you stepped up to be the man of our family even though we did not ask you to; and you always took time to care and help each one of us at anytime with whatever we needed.  Thank you for that; and for always making sure everyone had plenty of food to eat no matter what.   You are the strongest person I know and you had such a strong and passionate will to live; and fought long and hard to stay here with us all, no matter what.  
What a legacy you have left for us!

Rest In Peace sweet Brother in the loving arms of Jesus in heaven and have no more pain. We will miss you, love you and never forget all the wonderful and sweet memories you left for us; the talks, the smiles and the laughter. I am including a picture of December 26, 2018 when you and Jan came to my office and I showed you both the private airplanes we managed.  You enjoyed it so.  

Fred was a great man. One that I was honored to call family, as well as a friend. Fred was a hard -working. Straight-forward. Tell it like it was kind a man. The world needs more great men like him.

I didn’t become close to Fred until my mid 20s. He stepped in to teach and guide me on things, giving me the confidence to get me where I am today. Without Fred, my road would have been a lot harder.

Fred, you will be truly missed and always remembered.



Fred was like a big brother to me he was a very giving person always ready to help you I remember our motorcycle rides to bandera Galveston and thru the hill country it would always be raining all the way to bandera we welded together drank together Fred was the toughest person I knew never complained about anything I will always think of Fred when I ride my bike till we meet again I love you my brother


I went to work for Uncle Fred for as a helper one summer as a teenager. I learned a lot from him in that short period. While it was never really spoken the biggest takeaway was, work hard, play hard and don't make excuses. 

He was there for my first deer hunt, he loaned me his rifle for that hunt. We all struck out on that trip, but it's where I really came to appreciate the outdoors  and planted the seeds that ultimately lead me to the path I'm on now as a game warden. Listening to some of his stories I feel gives me an edge at work sometimes....just kidding, well kinda. I will miss hearing those stories, the hunting ones, and just the stories of the good ol' days.  I wish we would have had one more hunting trip. 

You'll be missed greatly Uncle Fred, rest in peace. Love ya, Tray

 
    

Uncle Fred, with such a sincere bright smile and a mischievous twinkle in his eye, always greeted us with so much love and joy at every family gathering. Fred must have made a conscious effort to get a little one-on-one time with everyone. I always noticed him make his way through the family, separating off in a corner laughing and joking with one loved one and then outside in deep conversation with another. Every function, without fail, at some point I could find Tray and Uncle Fred tucked away somewhere talking about hunting or motorcycles. We will forever miss that sincere bright smile and that mischievous twinkle in his eye!

Frederick was more than a brother-in-law to me. 

He was the man that let his girlfriend's angry teenage sister live in his house until she could get it together. He was the man that let his girlfriend send her little sister money to take that extra class she desperately needed to keep her college scholarship. He was the man that walked his fiancé's little sister down the aisle. He was the man that told his soon to be wife to pick a wedding date during her little sister’s spring break. He was the man who lent out his wife every Christmas and summer to her little sister and  family. He was the man that showered food and gifts upon his wife’s little sister, her little sister’s husband, and her little sister’s five children. 

Frederick loved my sister so much. He poured so much love into Linda that it overflowed and a lot of that love overflowed onto me. I will forever be thankful for the love that Frederick gave to her and that I was able to share in. 

Thank you for everything Frederick. May you find peace and forever rest in heaven.

Frederick was a kind and generous man. He would help anyone he could.  However, this isn't  what meant the most to me or why I'll miss him. He loved my sister with all his heart and did everything he could to make her happy. For those reasons,  I'll be eternally grateful to Frederick. 

For a friend that more like a brother than a friend. From the time I first met the Stuart family I was taken in like a part of there family. Fred was a wild guy both working and fun running the roads. I was 9 and his brother David and I always was together and Fred with his friends  James Meyers, Tony Mano, and many others. Fred had a motorcycle and like to drive fast as we all did and one day he drove home his new GMC 4x4 truck and that’s a whole different story. As we grew up it was always hunting fishing going to Crockett with all our 4x4 and motorcycles.  We terrorized the country side and everyone knew we where there. Even the deer was scared. Life was good and as we grew older life slowed down. But the most fondest memories was staying in the old house where there grandparents lived and playing in the woods. When Fredericks Dad Fred Sr. and his old life long friend Banjo, David his little brother and his cousin Matt Womack, when we where all together it was a giant family.  We would go up to Crockett with enough money to get us  back home and would take beer and bologna sandwich maken’s for a week.
And sometimes we would have to shoot game to eat. This one time we went just Frederick (Fred) David and me went up to Crockett to hunt. This was a bad week no game so Fred shot a squirrel so we could have dinner (didn’t see any deer) we didn’t have nothing but salt and pepper for seasoning and Fred boiled this squirrel for   And we shared it between three of us. 
Fred made fun of me because that squirrel was so delicious especially when you had nothing to eat for day or two (nothing but beer to drink)  I clean the bones like it was a skeleton. Lol. 
Other times I would help them work at the shop Fred Sr. Told us he had lunch we all three was work  Frederick busted out laughing because his dad Fred Sr said we had wish sandwiches.  A wish sandwich is when you put Bar b que sauce on bread and wish you had meat. Lol.  Man life was good and fun we will miss ya Fred. 

God in Heaven, who shared Frederick Stuart on earth with so many, has now taken Fred to His heavenly home.  My thoughts of him are always as a happy, rowdy, big smiling childhood and lifelong friend!  He lived his life seeing how fast he could go, always full throttle, yet he could slow down and draw delicate birds!   Growing up around the Stuarts, I remember Mr. and Mrs. Stuart had a gift of being sincerely happy to see you – no matter what the circumstances, and they passed this trait down to all 6 kids!   God’s arms are around this family, and I thank you Jesus for them all!

A sweet life long friend. He will truly be missed by so many. I have many fun and fond memories of this sweet man.

Linda, I just looked at all the beautiful pictures. You have so many memories with so many smiles around Frederick. I’ll never forget how incredibly happy you both were on your wedding day. I know this emptiness will be awful but the pictures showed that your sweety lived life to the full. He’ll be watching until he sees you smile again. Never forget that you are so loved. May peace be with you and with the rest of his family.
