Gail was born on March 17, 1951 on St. Patrick’s Day in Carbondale, Illinois. She was born to James and Norma Walker and then had a younger brother named David Walker, who all preceded her in death. She leaves behind her children; James Daniel Ramirez, and daughter, Norma Gail Sanchez (Ramirez); and grandchildren, Nathan James Ramirez and Kate Lin Ramirez.
Her father worked for Air Products, which allowed the Walker family to travel all over the U.S. She enjoyed trying new foods and learning how to make great connections with people all over. Gail loved Classic Rock. You can say she was an ex Hippy. She was able to sit on stage with Led Zeppelin and even play pool with them. Gail loved Broadway; she was even a costume designer and seamstress and a makeup artist. Gail went to school in Hammond, LA and lived in Slidell, LA as a young adult. She sure loved her Shrimp Po Boys! Mom was a medical transcriptionist who typed around 145 words per minute for many years.
The first thing people remember about Gail was that she was very nice. She was not selfish at all and always asked how you were. Gail was just a very kind, genuine person. Gail had a lot of fun times and went through a lot, living a full and meaningful life. Gail was known as the cool mom, and although she gave birth to two children, she really had over twenty! She was always down for a smoke or drink if you needed it. She would listen and give you sound advice. Mom had gone through a lot of things in her life, so she had a lot of experience from having a father who was in the Freemasons. All of her life experiences made her into the beautiful, warm, loving person she was. She touched the hearts of many and will forever be loved and missed.
A visitation for Gail will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at The Chapel of The Texas Liberty Mausoleum at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, Texas 77079, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
