

Garland Ray Henderson age 81 of Houston, Texas, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015. Garland was born on May 10, 1934 to Garland Otto & Floy Henderson in Stamford, Texas. Garland was married to Kathryn Sweeden Henderson for 61 years. They had three children, Roby, Angela & Dana. Garland enjoyed many things, such as watching boxing, football, movies and helping mom with her garden.
One of his greatest desires in life was to be baptized into the Catholic Faith and that joyous occasion took place on September 27, 2013, when he was baptized by his nephew, Deacon Barry Sweeden. Deacon Barry serves at Immaculate Conception in Denton, Texas.
Garland’s greatest joy in later years was spending time with his beloved grandchildren, Shawn, Christopher, Matthew & Chloe; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Farah, Hallee, Shaun Jr., Katlyn, Nicholas, Nicole, Corbin & Presley.
Preceding him in death is his oldest son, Roby Henderson; father, Garland Otto Henderson; mother, Floy Mildred Henderson; sisters, Mildred James, Judy (Jana) Thompson and Barbara Ray.
His is survived by his wife, Kathryn Henderson; son, Dana Ray Henderson and wife Rosalee; daughter, Angela Carol Henderson and husband Joseph; brother-in-law, Earl Thompson; three grandsons and one granddaughter; eight great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Henderson will be escorted to his final resting place by pallbearers, Shawn Henderson, Christopher Hetmaniak, Matthew Hetmaniak, and Joseph Hetmaniak.
Visitation will be held from 5-8pm, with a rosary at 7pm, Monday, January 4, 2016 at Pat H. Foley & Company. Funeral Mass will be held at 10am, Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman, Houston 77018. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park Cemetery, 2602 S. Houston Ave., Humble 77396.
