"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
John 14:1-3 KJV

Gary went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 in the afternoon at the young age of 37. Gary was blessed with two wonderful brothers who made him the second to the oldest. Gary grew up as an army brat while his dad served his country for 20 years resulting in his retirement in Katy, Texas.
While the family was stationed in West Point, New York, Gary had a love to play soccer. Once the family moved to Katy, Texas, he continued to play soccer until his mother enrolled him and his brother in summer track in which he threw the shot-put. However, he finally found a sport that he was compassionate for, which was football. One time his mother who was not paying attention to the game said tackle him. However, she failed to realize that his son's team who was on offense not defense. Gary stated through the crowd yelling he could hear his mom cheering for him with everyone yelling. He then continued to play football as a fullback from Junior High and all the way through High School dominating his opponents on the field with several tackles. It was always a joy to see him play through the years. Gary might have been short, but he made up size with his big heart. He later graduated at Mayde Creek High School in May 2005.
Gary had various jobs to include working for McDonald's while he was attending high school. After graduating from high school, he worked for AT&T as a cable guy. He also worked at Sam's Club as a cashier. After working at various jobs, Gary was challenged to excel to a higher paying job so he applied at USAA Truck Driving School. Upon completion of the course, he became a licensed truck driver. With the experience of a licensed truck driver, he had the opportunity to work for several truck companies. His last job as a truck driver was Misella Valley Transportation. He loved driving and would always have stories to tell and pictures to show his family. This job gave him the opportunity to meet all kinds of people that gave him a positive perspective towards life while he always searched for the good in every situation.
As a family, we would meet annually on special occasions to celebrate birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. During our happy times, Gary had a sense of humor that would keep the family laughing. He would send his mother roses "First" just to beat his brothers. On Valentine's Day, he brought his mother a huge teddy bear. It was so big it could have pass for a passenger in a HOV lane. Not knowing that this would be the last time that we would see him again, he decided to come from Ft. Worth on his two days off just to take his mother out to dinner for "Mother's Day". Lastly, Gary was a gentle giant and his kindness, love, and laughter that he showed us will always be etched in our hearts forever.
