

Gaynell Jackson Williams was called home to be with the Lord on July 3rd, 2024 at age 66 in Houston, Texas. Gaynell was born to Myrtis Williams on September 7, 1957 in Columbus, Georgia.
She graduated from Jordan High School in 1975. She got married in 1976 and moved to Germany, then later moved to Houston, Texas with her two children, Chadney and Latoya Williams.
She joined the Houston Police Department on October 16, 1985 and was assigned to the Eternal Affairs Division, Employment Services Division, Inspections Division and The Risk Management Division until her retirement on July 31, 2021. She showed her love for others through her favorite hobbies which were cooking and baking. She was an active member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church where she was secretary of SWAT (Soul Winning Action Team) for Christ.
Gaynell was preceded in death by her two siblings, Barbara Dixon and Darrin Bettis; and is survived by her two wonderful children; her only grandchild, Jourdan Mia Williams; and her sisters and brothers, Helen Mobley, Julius Jackson, Clarence Jackson, Adelle Bryant, Victoria Baldwin, Annetta Williams and Thomas Bettis Jr.; along with lots of nieces and nephews. Gaynell was loved by many people.
A visitation for Gaynell will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Paradise Funeral Home, Inc, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. A funeral services will immediately follow from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. The committal will be held from 4:00 PM to 4:15 PM at Paradise Funeral Home & Cemetery North, 10401 W Montgomery Rd, Houston, TX 77088.
